The Word of God teaches in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” There are many times in life that we can look back and see how God has worked or is working in our lives. Some of life’s seasons are cyclical, and others are moments of growth as we draw nearer to God and become more like Christ.
In the last 2 months, God has brought a season of growth to Skelmersdale Baptist Church. Not only have people taken some steps through grace in faith, but God has brought families to SBC. In the past 8 weeks, God has brought 44 visitors to church!
A man named Harley began coming at the beginning of the year. He had many questions, and we encouraged him to trust Christ as Saviour. At the beginning of March, Harley and I sat down, and he listened as I explained salvation very carefully for two hours. At the end of those two hours, Harley got saved! Recently he gave this testimony, “Salvation is the gift God has given unto me for accepting my shortcomings (sin) and His words and guidance to receive Jesus as Saviour.”
Another man, Adam, got baptized and brought many of his family to church with him. Adam got saved from a life of drugs and living on the street. His family kept looking at him in awe stating, “This is a different Adam than what we’ve known all these years.” Jesus has changed this man’s life!
We began a discipleship class called “Connect” and taught through the core doctrines of salvation, eternal security, baptism, and the Word of God. God blessed with a full classroom and a great spirit! Watching the two aforementioned men partake with others in the class and see God establish them has been incredible. Our next class, “Cultivate,” begins May 15, and we are excited to see how God is going to use this. Pray for us as we disciple new Christians.
Our youngest son Samuel turned 4, and Nathan celebrated his 9th birthday in April. Jonathan will be 11 next month, and David will be 13 in August. It’s hard to believe that we’ll have a teenager in our home soon!
Pray for these exciting services and special meetings planned in the next couple of months:
• 11-12 May – Bible Seminar
• 25 May – Ladies’ BBQ
• 9 June – Baptism
• 27-30 June – Revival
Thank you for praying for us! We have applied to renew our visas, so please pray that the application goes through smoothly and in a timely manner. Thank you for making it possible for us to serve Christ here in this spiritually dark country!
Yours for the souls of England,
Justin, Holly, David, Jonathan, Nathan, and Samuel Williams
