These past couple months have been brilliant! God has given us a very busy summer and has done amazing things in my family and in Skelmersdale Baptist Church. As I look over the past two months, God has brought many victories, and we’re excited to see what lies ahead.
Holly and the boys are getting more settled and are doing very well. God has given our family special young men. They have servants’ hearts, and it’s great to see them jump in to help clean the church, decorate, pass out tracts, etc. Holly is an amazing wife and mother, and she has been instrumental in so many areas as we get transitioned to the church and to the UK. Continue praying, as we’re moving to a home closer and just 10 minutes away from church in the first part of November.
SBC started July with Evangelist Bob Jones preaching for us in a revival service. He was a great encouragement and has become a “tradition” at SBC over the years. I know my heart was challenged by his faithfulness and zeal for the Lord.
We ended July by baptizing a young family that got saved the month before. Their relatives had been praying for them for some time, so it was a wonderful service seeing them baptized. A discipleship system/program is almost underway now, and this young married couple is excited to start. Please continue praying for Alex and Stephanie as they grow in Christ.
August was a month that seems like a blur. So much happened in preparation for our first Vacation Bible School (called Holiday Bible Clubs here). The entire church got involved in some way, and they teamed together to make the HBC a great success! We passed out almost 1,000 flyers, and God brought new families and returning families in! Our theme was “Space Explorers,” and we focused on the Light of the Gospel. In the middle of the HBC, we had a Community BBQ and invited Skelmersdale for a free dinner. Over 80 came, and 3 were saved that week! God has given SBC a faithful group of workers and people who want to be involved. God blessed their efforts! Glory to God!
Our regular attendances have almost tripled in the first three months of being here. We have simply tried to love these people, and they have been excited to bring family and friends to church! God is building HIS church and has given the increase. SBC is going to take a couple more missionaries on for support and, by the grace of God, even more as we have a Missions-Emphasis Month in October. Please pray that God’s people step out by faith to give to missions.
We love you and are so grateful for the privilege to serve Christ on your behalf here in the Liverpool area. The Gospel needs to be preached, and we’re excited to be part of your missions family preaching the Gospel! Please continue praying, as we have some building projects coming up over the next few months, as well as our personal move closer to the church. William Carey said, “I will go down, if you hold the ropes.” Thank you for holding our “ropes”!
Yours for the souls of England,
Justin, Holly, David, Jonathan, Nathan, and Samuel Williams
