Juan Vallejo Prayer Letter: In Uncertain Times, We Can Be Certain He Loves Us!Thank you again for praying for the ministry here in Sao Paulo, Brazil. We appreciate your prayers and financial support. We have been faithfully out soul winning as a church each week, and we thank the Lord for at least 30 Brazilians who trusted in Jesus Christ as their Saviour in May and June.

Thirteen years ago, we invited Gioumar and her five teen and adult children to church. She and many of her family members trusted Christ as Saviour. As I passed her house on the bus route with the Volkswagen van full of children, she would insist on walking the two miles to church. One Sunday her flip-flop broke halfway to church. She decided that instead of returning home, she would just continue walking to church—one example of her faithfulness! Although she had very little income and lived in a dilapidated home, she would bring a sweet bread and juice to Sunday school every week. She cried this past Mother’s Day because her family would not visit her. She was terribly afraid to go to the hospital for an underlying condition. A week later, she went Home to be with the Lord. We will miss her constant smile! I preached her funeral, where her sons were inconsolable. Many people were saved. My wife and I were amazed at all of the neighbors and family who attended the funeral. She truly touched so many lives. Her granddaughter Kayenne is one of the few young people who has stayed faithful all of these years. Gioumar didn’t know how to read very well, nor did she sing in the choir; she was simply always smiling and always faithful! We are so grateful for the difference she made in Kayenne’s life.

With the cooler weather, we moved the services from the open field back into the church building in Cotia. Many sweet hours of prayer on our knees have helped us keep our focus on the Lord through this crisis. We thank the Lord for comforting our churches as we seek Him and cry out to Him! We are so encouraged by the faithfulness of the youth on visitation. We go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in. We have had the joy of delivering boxes of food to needy families each week. Many souls have been saved. With tears in his eyes, one young man asked me if God could still love Him! I was so glad that I could tell him that the Bible promises God still loves him, and he accepted that promise!!

In uncertain times, we can be certain He loves all of us and has given us His Word on that! We keep busy sharing this good news; it is what the world needs most! As a family, we are studying Revelation and blessed by the kids as they are eager to learn more about our Saviour!!

Thank you again for your prayers and support. We appreciate your consideration for us, as we do not have the option of leaving two churches easily. We do not have anyone who can handle caring for both of them yet. We would like to personally thank you and the church for all you have done for our family and ministry. Until then, please know how much we wish we could see you and report on all that God has done and is doing here in Brazil!

In His service,

The Vallejo Family
