Jonathan Beil Prayer Letter: Resuming Our Monthly Teen ActivityWe are so excited to announce that Brittany and I are expecting our first child! Lord willing, he or she will be born in February 2021. We are looking forward to meeting our baby soon and becoming first-time parents. Please pray for the health of Brittany and the baby. We thank the Lord for a good hospital and capable doctors here in Thailand.

While we look forward to the physical birth of our child, it is also exciting to rejoice with those here in their spiritual births. Through weekly soul winning, Bible studies, and regular church services, many Thais are learning about and placing their trust in Christ. It has been so exciting to see several new teenagers receive salvation and follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. Mike, a young man who comes from a Buddhist and Muslim family, was invited by his friend Leo to come to church. After church, Mike trusted in Christ as his Saviour, like his friend Leo had done previously. They were both baptized the same Sunday. Please pray for the spiritual growth of both young men.

A few Sundays ago, Jang, one of our most faithful teen girls, invited her friends, Luk Blah and Bu. On Sunday, Jang’s birthday, Luk Blah and Bu came to church for the first time. Brittany and Pi El were able to share the Gospel with them during teen class, and they both trusted Christ too! They were both excited and want to come back to church. They normally have to help their parents work on the weekends. Please pray that they will be able to start attending church faithfully.
It is so encouraging to see our faithful teens invite their friends to church. Many of these new teens have started coming regularly on Sundays, and a few are also able to attend our Wednesday night services. Together as a class, we are learning the song, “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” in Thai. It’s a powerful statement for these young people to make, but they sing out with sincerity.

Each month, we try to have an activity for the teenagers. It can be difficult for everyone to attend because several of the teens work evenings or weekends or go to school on Saturday as well. We have had great turnouts in July and August, after having to cancel activities during the months of quarantine. These times together are a great opportunity for the teens to invite friends to meet the youth group. We have seen several teens come to the activities first and then attend church the next Sunday.

Our Thai studies are coming along great. We both can have basic, limited conversations with people, and our abilities are slowly increasing every week. We started with a new teacher this month and are encouraged in her plan to help us speak more fluently as we continue to learn four days a week. During a church service, Brittany and I were able to sing our first hymn in Thai as a duet this past month.

We are praying for you all and appreciate you. If you have any questions or if we can help encourage your church in any way, please let us know.

In His service,

Jonathan and Brittany Beil
