Israel Alvarez Prayer Letter: Summer NewsIt is a joy to report of our ministry once again. Summer is in full swing with ministry, as well as family. Our three girls are enjoying their quick break from school. Although our littlest, Isabella, has been very sick, we have a stream of activities lined up before we hit the schoolbooks again. That, of course, includes a lot of swimming, bike riding, and ice cream eating!!

In our last letter, we mentioned the Opening Day of Faith Baptist Church in Corozal, which is an hour away from Orange Walk. We are pleased to report that in these past two months, we have witnessed growth, both numerically and spiritually. It is wonderful to see teens from our church in Orange Walk jump on board and be a part of helping to set up, sing specials, and teach children’s classes at this mission church. On June 24, we held our second baptism service. We had a special lunch down by the ocean, with 6 people getting baptized. Since the Opening Day of the church, we have been going through the fundamentals of Bible doctrine. It has been a blessing to have new converts see the truth, believe the truth, and following the Holy Spirit’s guiding in their lives. That is what discipleship is all about. During the past several months, we have seen about 50 people saved. Please continue to pray for this mission and the opportunity we have to reach more for Christ.

The time has come once again for us to prepare for our annual Revival Fires conference. This conference will be held the second week of September, with several guests speakers from the United States and Mexico. We plan to celebrate our ninth anniversary as a church the same week. Our goal for this conference is always to encourage our members, strengthen their faith, and build up the family. It is also a time for us to get the Gospel out to our community and bring the lost to Christ. We are asking you to pray that God would use this conference for His glory. To be able to put on a conference of this size, our church family has several fundraisers, such as yard sales and food sales, to cover the cost.

In August, we will host Vacation Bible Schools in both churches. We have a group of college students from a Bible institute at Missionary Kevin Wynne’s church in Mexico City, Mexico, lined up to help out with the week’s activities. Whenever we have a group come, we wish to be a blessing to these people as they seek God’s plan for their life. We enjoy this opportunity to encourage these young students. Our prayer request in this is for the many children to come to Christ and for our efforts to yield more families faithful in God’s house.

There is no way to express our gratitude for nine years of support. Thank you for believing in what God has called us to do for Him. God bless you.
