Garry Tingson Prayer Letter: A Bittersweet Month for Our FamilyDecember was a bittersweet month for our family. We knew that this could very well be the last Christmas we would have with them. In true Christmas fashion, the children were spoiled beyond measure! But one extra special moment for us was to gift Mindy’s parents with tickets to visit us in Australia once we’ve settled in. They have helped us through the deputation trail by allowing us to stay at their house for free these past three years!

We had the privilege to be home for the month of December. This gave us the chance to prepare some things for our tentative move in the summer. We were able to serve at our home church. I had the honor to preach in Junior Church, high school chapel, and also a Sunday evening service. It was nice to be able to get behind the wheel of a bus again and to knock on hundreds of doors. I was encouraged to go door knocking with a couple of new members of our church. One of the young men, Tom, who had gotten the assurance of his salvation at our church and had only been with our church for six months, felt the Lord’s calling for him to go to Bible college. He believes the Lord is calling him to the mission field. Please pray for Tom as he begins college in January.

One apartment complex where we were knocking doors proved challenging to me. We had met people from all walks of life, but we were knocking on the last doors of the complex, and I still hadn’t seen anybody saved. I know the Lord gives the increase, but it’s nice to be part of the harvest from time to time. I got to my last door of the entire complex and met a man in his late seventies. I thought, Surely, he’s not going to listen. But he listened graciously, and at the end of the presentation, he bowed his head and trusted Christ as his personal Saviour! I was immediately reminded about the value of one. It was worth not giving up to see this dear man come to know the Saviour!

In 2020, we traveled enough miles to circle the earth. Our last meeting was our 100th scheduled meeting. Our schedule in the spring will be another busy time for us. Please pray that we fill every available date. We will be gradually traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast. Thank you for those who gave extra for Christmas! We hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Your servant in Christ,

Garry Tingson
