Zach Sr. and Karin Foust Prayer Letter: Excited About What the Lord Is Doing Here!We hope this letter finds you well and happy and serving the Lord where He has placed you. Here in Lima, Peru, the end of September means spring. We hope this means that soon the sun will begin to shine again occasionally! The months of August and September were busy months for us, and we are excited for what God is doing here.

We visited the Rio Tigre in the Amazon in August. What a blessing it was to get to help a growing church in Nuevo York! We traveled to several villages on the river and were able to see many trust Christ. We also held a Family Conference and were able to give water systems to several villages. We sent a video update about that trip to you all in August. If you did not get it and would like to view it, please let us know. We are working with the Peruvian government on a project that would potentially help us get the water systems and the Gospel to 350 villages. Please pray about this!

In August, we also spent much time gearing up for our annual Pastors’ School, held September 7-10. We honestly did not know what to expect as far as attendance this year due to the pandemic. Only recently, COVID restrictions have lifted slightly in Lima, which gave us the opportunity to hold the event. We also did not have any funds with which to work. We just trusted God, and He worked as only He can do. We are so thankful for two different ministries that opened their doors to us, allowing us to host the event on their properties. We used a large outdoor space and put up a screen for a roof to give a little protection from the rain and then prayed for people to come. God really worked, and we had attendances of over 500 each night. We had 232 people trust Christ during the soul-winning times and more than 40 trust Christ in the services. The crowning moment of the conference was the last evening service when 117 people surrendered their lives to serve the Lord full-time!

Our church family really grew during the time of the conference. The men worked as ushers, security guards, and cleaners, taught classes, carried chairs and air mattresses (we housed more than 200 people in churches, homes, and other places in the area), and took care of the sound system and recording. They also helped in the kitchen! Our ladies cooked meals, brought visitors, worked in the nursery, taught classes, registered the pastors and other guests, and did it all with a smile! One lady (Sonia) told how she made a meal for a man who had come late (past the time the meal was served). She smiled as she served him and forgot all about it. The next night, the man returned to the kitchen with his wife. Through tears, he explained that he had brought his wife that night to meet her so that she could see what a good spirit Sonia had while serving so many people. He told Sonia that he had surrendered to serve the Lord that evening, along with his wife, and that it was partly due to her! He then asked her to sign his Bible! Sonia told us this story in tears, thanking God for the opportunity to serve. We thank the Lord that our church had the opportunity to help the other churches in Peru!

Many people have prayed for our health and safety. We really appreciate these prayers and see God working in these areas. Please continue to pray for us. Please continue to pray for our children as well. Zach and Cassandra are doing well! They have had some minor hiccups along the deputation road; but God has been faithful, and they have seen His hand. Please
consider having them in to your church if you haven’t had a chance to schedule them yet. We are anxious for them to arrive here to help in the ministry! Caleb is doing well in his last year of Bible college. We are pleased with the young man that he is becoming. Please pray for him as he seeks the Lord’s will. Logan is a senior in high school! We aren’t sure how that happened, but we are happy with how he is growing in the Lord. We certainly are blessed with a wonderful family.

Please pray for a couple of trips into the jungle that are scheduled for October. We ask that you pray for safety and health for those traveling, that the people would be receptive to God’s Word, and that a difference would be made for eternity.

Please pray for Team Peru! We would ask that you pray for these families who work with us on the team: Mark and Sarah Rader and their five children (Savannah, Paul, Samuel, Rebecca, Luke, and one on the way!), David and Sylvana Alfaro, Jhonatan and Cruz Alfaro (they are expecting their first little one), Rollin and Miriam Bardales and their daughters Angeli and Keren, Exodo and Yessica Buitrago and their baby boy Josue, Valeria Alfaro, Nicole Huingo, and Kimberly Vargas. I don’t think that we have ever introduced you to all of our team, especially our Peruvian staff, but we certainly could not do the work here without each of them! Other than our American missionaries, all these people have been reached and/or trained by our ministries here, which means you have a part in the work that they do for our Saviour! Please pray for them as they finish their institute training and as they help us reach Peru with the Gospel.

Thank you again for praying and giving.

His for souls,

Zach and Karin Foust and Logan
