“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” (Matthew 7:7) Wow! What a fantastic year 2016 has been! We have been asking, seeking, and knocking; and God has answered. We praise the Lord for all He has done and for all He has allowed us to have a part in. We are even more excited about 2017!
As you are aware, we have had challenges with Irish Immigration for some time now. We thank you for partnering with us in prayer regarding this. Through much prayer, counsel, and times of fasting, we feel confident that the Lord’s answer is clear on the matter. As you may recall, we shared three requests seeking for the Lord’s direction: (1) for the Lord to open the door for us to be able to return to Ireland full-time, (2) for direction on whether or not we should continue in the ministry we have been doing for several years by making trips back and forth to Ireland in faith that the door would one day open to us, or (3) would it be the Lord’s will that we make a ministry change? Thank you so much for your prayers, friendship, calls, cards, e-mails, and genuine care. We praise the Lord for His leading and directing to the point that we are confident to share His answer to our prayers and yours.
I recently had the opportunity to spend several days in Kentucky with Bro. Allen Johnson and the Wings Bearing Precious Seed Ministry. The Lord brought our paths and ministries together several times over the past few years. I was in Ireland when I first heard about WBPS. I joined up with the WBPS team in London, England, to help a local missionary and his newer church plant. While I was there, we distributed over 20,000 John and Romans. This was during the 2012 Olympics held in London. My heart was quickly meshed with this ministry, as this was the same thing—except on a larger scale—that we were doing in Ireland with the Chick Publications Light of the World DVD project. The following year I invited Bro. Johnson and WBPS to come to Ireland. It was such a blessing for us to host this team of 19 members as we distributed 25,000 Scriptures to the lost souls in Ireland.
As time went on, we continued to have difficulties with Immigration to remain in Ireland full-time. The Lord has used these trips greatly in our lives; as well as in ministries throughout the country on Ireland. We’ve been able to serve and see souls saved all throughout the country. We’ve encouraged missionaries by helping them with soul winning, tract distribution, Vacation Bible Schools, pulpit supply, and special programs, as well as the DVD project, which has been a great blessing. It has always been our desire to please the Lord and be in His perfect will.
I was privileged once again this past August to work with WBPS during the Brazil Olympics Outreach, where we were able to pass out 25,000 John and Romans, plus several thousand tracts, and see several souls saved.
After much prayer and fasting and seeking counsel, we feel that the Lord is directing us to join the ministry of WBPS, beginning in January 2017. Please be assured that we have not changed our standards, our convictions, or our burdens. This transition should be very natural and smooth, as our ministries are very much similar. We will be involved full-time with worldwide Scripture distribution with new church plants and existing churches on the foreign field. We will be assembling mission teams and participating on multiple foreign-missions trips annually, coordinating shipments within Europe to missionaries and national pastors, as well as presenting the WBPS ministry to churches around our country. We are looking ahead to a very busy year with WBPS. We are planning to send a shipping container of Scriptures to missionaries and national pastors each month this year! Imagine the impact that could make on hundreds of thousands of people!
Thank you for partnering with us and for your faithful prayers. We are very excited about this, as we are sure this is God’s will for us. We will be basing ourselves out of our home church: Berean Baptist Church, Pastor Doug Rogers, in Adrian, Michigan.
