What a fantastic summer we have been having! We are only halfway through it, and God has blessed greatly, with souls saved and thousands receiving the Gospel through tracts and DVDs. When I see someone trust Christ, I am reminded of the wonderful day 24 years ago that I trusted Jesus as my Saviour. I thank God that someone was willing to share the greatest news in history with me! “The fruit of the righteous is the tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30) I’ve said it many times in the past and still believe it today, “The greatest investment with your time is sharing the Gospel with someone.”
Soul-Winning Story
Recently I had the opportunity to meet a young man by the name of Derek. Derek had recently lost a loved one in his family and was concerned about eternity. I asked him the question, “If you were to die today, would Heaven be your home?” He was not sure, so I took my Bible and went through the Romans Road with him. After listening carefully, Derek asked Jesus to be his Saviour! Afterwards I asked him the same question once again, but this time his answer was different. His answer was “YES!” Praise the Lord that another soul will be in Heaven one day!
Ironically, about a month later, I met another person named Derek while in Dublin, Ireland. This was an adult man. He stopped me to ask for directions. (I thought to myself, this would be a good opportunity to point him in the direction of Heaven.) So I told him the information he needed and then asked him if he was going to Heaven when he died. He answered, “Yes, I’m saved!” After talking a bit more, I learned that he had trusted Christ many years ago. Afterwards I thought about the younger Derek. I hope that years down the road, the younger Derek will be as confident as this man still is today.
More DVDs = More Gospel
Since our last prayer letter, we have been able to complete Phase 3 of the DVD project. These 1,000 DVDs have been distributed throughout North Dublin and a surrounding suburb.
It is exciting to see the fruit of our labors as the Gospel presentations, through DVD format, make their way around Ireland. We have also successfully raised the funds for Phase 4 of this project. We would like to thank Loomis Park Baptist Church in Jackson, Michigan, for their recent donation and for becoming our newest Silver Contributor. These DVDs are making their way around the country, and the Gospel is having an impact. We are planning to produce and distribute Phase 4 sometime this fall. Please be in much prayer for us as we continue moving forward with this project. Also, if you would like to have a part, please consider sponsoring ¼, ½, or even an entire phase of this project.
Prayer Requests
1. Prayer for immigration is always greatly needed.
2. Continue praying for my wife with her migraines.
3. Pray for both Dereks as they grow in the Lord.
4. Pray for more Irish hearts to be open to the Gospel.
5. Continued praying for the DVD project.
