Dave Solt Prayer Letter: A Silver LiningA Slow Recovery

Nobody has seen anything like this. According to our church records, the last Sunday we met together was the 15th of March. Recently on the 5th of July, we had our first public Sunday service. That is over three months without a public meeting! I cannot say the meeting on the 5th was easy. Everyone who came had to keep two meters from everyone else. The whole congregation had to wear facemasks. This is the first time I have ever preached to a congregation of facemasks, yet the joy we felt being together for the first time since March was palpable. Two visitors came, and we had 2 people saved out soul winning on Saturday. By the way, we have had over 200-plus views on our Facebook Live page just from a recent Sunday service.

Silver Lining

It has been difficult, but there is a silver lining in all of this. During the months of lockdown, we have been in our Bibles, growing and learning. Many churches have posted online services. Imagine the people who are being reached for Christ! In so many cases, this is worldwide! At the writing of this letter, we have had 37 souls who have trusted Christ and 29 total church visitors for the year. We will continue having Sunday morning services with social distancing. We also have an evening Zoom prayer time and a Wednesday night Zoom Bible study. God is giving us many more opportunities to witness for Jesus than ever before. People are concerned and are asking questions. We can now get out and witness, as lockdown restrictions have been relieved. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be here for all these years!

Blessings

Recently, we had a man named PJ come to our services. He called me out of the blue and let me know that he had been baptized at our church a few years before. During that time, he was in prison. God saved him, and now he is on fire for the Lord. It is so refreshing to meet PJ again during this time of hardship. He has encouraged our hearts and our desires to know about the Bible, and he loves soul winning. Well, Amen! God gave us someone who wants to win the lost. PJ and I are out during the week witnessing. Last Sunday, he brought a lady visitor to church, and she wants to come again next week. I am finding some of our other members stepping out for the Lord as well. These times seem to bring out the best in our fellow brothers and sisters! God is so good!

Thanks for your prayers for Mary Beth and Jeremy. They are doing well, and Jeremy just finished his high school last week. He is planning to attend Hyles-Anderson College in the fall. Joshua is doing well and is finishing his final year at Hyles-Anderson. Daniel and Rachel were planning a big visit over here, but because of the situation we are now in, their flights have been canceled. God knows what He is doing. Daniel is busy witnessing, preaching, and leading a junior department at First Baptist Church under the leadership of our sending pastor, John Wilkerson. We are thankful for their love, prayers, and friendship, as well as their sacrificial giving. Rachel is a blessing and a sweet help to Daniel as they serve our God. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing so we can pray for you. It is a joy to watch you who faithfully pray and financially help us “stay by the stuff.” You are all a blessing to us! Thanks for partnering with us in this important work for Christ. May God richly bless you for your prayers and kindnesses.

Yours for souls,
