As I am writing this letter, my heart is thrilled with excitement about what God is doing through this ministry. We cannot express how grateful we are for all that you do to help us to reach precious souls for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Many of you know that the Lord is opening up many wonderful opportunities for me to teach and preach here in Mexico about raising up more evangelists and doing the work of an evangelist in Spanish-speaking countries and all around the world, and God is blessing in an amazing way. Please continue to pray with us for at least 300 fiery evangelists to be raised up to preach Christ to the multitudes, help build and start churches, raise up more full-time servants, and train churches to be more effective soul winners for the glory of Christ.
I have always believed that the Spanish-speaking countries are, for the most part, very open to the Gospel of Christ, and I thought if we could raise up more evangelists to preach Christ to the multitudes, then we could see a great harvest of souls for the Lord. Therefore, I was very excited when I was invited to do an evangelistic campaign in the country of El Salvador with Pastor Henry Gonzalez. The Lord blessed and provided the time and the finances to do so. The evangelistic campaign was for about nine days, and we were able to preach the Gospel of Christ in several public schools almost every day.
The exciting news is that we had the opportunity to preach the Gospel to over 9,000 people, with well over 3,000 people indicating that they were trusting Christ as their Saviour. To God be all the glory! It is truly as Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Now, of course, discipleship and follow-up are very difficult when you preach in a school, because you are limited in what you can say and do; but, praise the Lord, they will allow you to talk about the fact that Jesus loves them and gave His life so that they might have eternal life. Now we were able to give out literally thousands and thousands of John and Romans to the students with the address of the church on the back, as well as give New Testaments and CDs with stories from the Bible to the teachers. One exciting and amazing thing is that many of the directors of the schools said that we would be welcome to come back again in the future as well.
Oh, my heart was truly burdened and stirred when Pastor Gonzalez told me that you could do this almost every day, as long as school was in session. He also mentioned that other Central American countries would be just as open as well. I believe the same could also be said of countries down in South America. Now when you consider that the majority of the people in these countries are under the age of 20, then it could be possible to preach the Gospel to literally millions and millions of people. Oh, please pray fervently that the Lord would raise up more than 300 fiery evangelists to take the Gospel of Christ to the Spanish world and, for that matter, to the whole world, as the Lord Jesus has commanded us to do. Oh, I believe the Lord wants us to see multitudes and multitudes come to trust Christ as their Saviour.
