We have had the opportunity to visit in 14 states and 3 countries since our last letter. It had been almost two years since we had visited with my family in California. We were able to visit with them for a week after attending a wonderful missions conference in Wildomar, California. We were also able to visit with Irene’s family in Mexico before leaving for Peru. It was much less expensive to fly to Peru from Mexico than to fly to Peru from the United States. We had great visits with our families and were thankful for the opportunity to see them.
I was invited to teach a week-long class at Great Plains Baptist College as a guest lecturer. Pastor Reeves and North Platte Baptist Church were very gracious hosts, and the college students were a pleasure to teach. We had a great time with them and are happy to welcome North Platte Baptist Church of North Platte, Nebraska, as a new supporting church! We would also like to welcome Whetstone Baptist Church of Bucyrus, Ohio, as a new supporting church! Thank you for partnering with us to get the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth.
Our support level is now at 46% of our targeted amount. There have been no problems during our travels, and our vehicle is running well. I will be changing the brakes, calipers, master cylinder, and brake hoses when we get back from Peru. I have noticed a little bit of stickiness in the calipers and leaking from the master cylinder. It is much easier to prevent a problem than to repair the damage after a problem. The drop in gas prices is a huge blessing to us since we do not get the best mileage. God has been providing for us every step of the way. We were able to drive through eight states consecutively without putting any gas into the motor home ourselves. The generosity of God’s people is amazing!
Our three-month trip to Peru is now in progress! The team here has been doing a great job, and it is exciting to get to see the progress firsthand after almost 2½ years since our last visit. We are visiting each of the churches established by the team and several of the Bible studies. Our next letter will give more details on our experiences in Peru. Please pray that God will use us to be an encouragement to both our team and the people of Peru.
