Brian Hebert Prayer Letter: A Very Surprising MonthWe started April with a short breather at home in North Carolina for a couple of weeks. We made sure to take time to meet more pastors in the area too. We stopped in for services at Riverside Independent Baptist Church in Durham, and we received the warmest welcome from Pastor Jones and the church family. He even let us come back for evening services so I could preach and present our ministry! Once our little breather was over, we headed out again for our next three-month trip of deputation.

We started the trip with two churches in Ohio, Huber Heights Baptist Temple and Eaton Baptist Temple. At Huber Heights Baptist Temple, I not only got to present our work and preach, I also got to preach chapel for the Christian school the next day. I also got to go out visiting with the church’s visitation crew on Thursday night. During our time out, I was able to present the Gospel to Jenny, who worked at a local Catholic school; please pray with us that she gets saved someday. During our entire visit to Ohio, Liz and I were privileged to stay at the missions house of Eaton Baptist Temple. Pastor Spencer let me present our ministry there even though we weren’t scheduled. While we were out soul winning in the Eaton area, we met a young lady who was confused about her salvation. She was able to see that she was already saved. However, she was struggling with some situations in her life; please pray with us that she will let Pastor Spencer and his church family be a help to her and her family.

Our next destination was Kimball, Michigan. We were not only completely unprepared for the snow shower that welcomed us to the area, but we were also unprepared for Pastor Jim Jones to initiate a vote in the service to take us on for support that very night! I also learned that Community Baptist Church hosted the Master Club Regional Competition. To my surprise, the next church we were heading to was attending. I’ve been wanting to see how Master Clubs works, so I went to the Regionals with Berean Baptist Church from Adrian, Michigan. Not long after being at the Regionals, I was asked to judge the Bible-story telling for fourth and fifth graders. Judging for hours was exhausting, but it was a great blessing to see what the kids came up with. On the following Sunday night, Pastor Rogers let me present and preach at Berean Baptist Church. Pastor Rogers had just visited Bro. Johnston in Canada not long before we came. He left Canada praying that God would send someone to help Bro. Johnston, not knowing that we would show up as the answer to his prayers! We were also blessed to have a meeting at Harvest Baptist Church in Grass Lake, Michigan, with Pastor Bobby Toler. This church had one of the best Wednesday night crowds I have seen in our travels. We closed out the month with a meeting in Charlevoix, Michigan, at Bible Baptist Church. So far, this is my favorite place we’ve visited. Please continue to pray for us, as we still have another two months on the road.

Thanks to Calvary,

Brian Hebert
