thumbnail of Brendan Morgan August 2021 Prayer LetterThank you so much for your continued prayers and support! We’ve had quite a lot of things happen since our previous update. In July, we had the wonderful opportunity to attend FBMI’s Missions University. This was such a wonderful time of refreshment, encouragement, and learning. We got to hear some very helpful lessons from the FBMI staff, as well as from Bro. Eddie Wilson of Christian Media International. This event also coincided with the First Baptist Church of Hammond’s Youth Conference. We attended all of the evening services and heard some powerful preaching. While it was geared towards youth, the preaching convicted us as well! My wife also got to reconnect with many friends and faculty from her time at Hyles-Anderson College. We are so grateful for the wonderful time we had.

When we got back from Indiana, we continued getting things ready to go on the road permanently. We sold or donated and packed more things. I was also able to confirm some more meetings for later this year. I got to preach for Junior Church at RBC. I love preaching in Junior Church the best! On July 24, I had the wonderful privilege to share the Gospel with ‘Frey. I spent over an hour answering his questions, but he was not quite ready to trust Christ. Please pray for his salvation. The following Saturday, July 31, I was able to share the Gospel with several more men. Praise God that Jorge decided to trust Christ as his Saviour! Continue to pray that he would come to church and grow in the Lord.

August 2-6, I drove our church kids to Mount Zion Baptist Camp near Mount Lassen in California. I was able to be a counselor for the young boys during this week. What a time we had! This was actually the first time I had attended camp in any capacity. I had nine boys squeezed into one cabin with me! I had so much fun watching these boys learn different things and build relationships together. Pastor John Stalions preached some amazing messages to these kids. The camp staff also did a fantastic job keeping things in order and making the camp so much fun for the kids. I got to make some new friends as well.

The week after camp, we FINALLY got our RV back from the shop—over a month later. We were finally able to start moving all of our clothing and things into the RV. We aim to have almost everything moved in by today, as we prepare to drive off into the sunset in less than two weeks. This past Thursday, I was able to fill in for my pastor, as he just had his wisdom teeth removed. Our son Callan was also able to get braces, which he was excited about. Our daughter Sienna also got to celebrate her 11th birthday with her friends, possibly for the last time for quite a while. This coming Sunday, August 22, will be our final regular Sunday at our home church. We expect to come back around Christmas, but it will be a bit bittersweet knowing that we won’t be with these dear people for quite some time. Last night as my wife and I went out to dinner on a “date night” for the last time (for now), we stopped at a man selling churros on the street. He spoke Spanish, and my wife was able to share the Gospel with Joel. He was a police officer in Mexico and fled to the U.S. due to death threats. Please pray he would get saved! We plan on following up with him.

Pray for us as we begin our trek across the country in September. We will be in Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, (a quick flight back to California), and then on to Arizona and possibly more in between! We are so excited to be starting full-time deputation finally and to see what God will do!

In Christ,

Brendan Morgan
