Bob Bowen Prayer Letter: So Much to Be Thankful For!“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” (Psalm 100:4)

Especially this time of the year, we have so much to be thankful for. We are very thankful that the Lord has seen fit to keep us alive and well enough to serve Him. Every year, it seems a little harder, but I guess that comes with age. I am getting closer to “Mile Marker 73” every day.

I just recently applied for my fourth passport. I would like to bless His name for keeping me safe while traveling internationally and around the country all these many years. My body feels like a car with 300,000 miles in need of an overhaul . . . and looks like it too!

This month, B.E.S.T. Missions printed 10,000 Thai John & Romans in Thailand for the public-school Christmas programs. Missionaries are allowed to go into the schools and teach the true meaning of Christmas, preach the Gospel, and then pass out Thai John & Romans and Gospel tracts. A four-page insert of “God’s Simple Plan of Salvation” is inserted into each booklet. Literally tens of thousands of children will hear the Gospel for the very first time. Praise the Lord! There is more freedom of religion in a Buddhist nation than in America . . . yet we say we have freedom of religion in America!

We also printed our second printing of 1,000 more soul-winning booklets, which we use to train personal soul winners. This is a great evangelistic tool in training Thai people to win Thai people to the Lord. I believe the greatest thing a missionary can do is train their national believers to be personal soul winners. This is how new believers hear the Gospel and how New Testament Baptist churches are established on the mission field.

We are so thankful for the many men of God we supply Scriptures for in Southeast Asia who are in the process of starting new works for the Lord. We at B.E.S.T. Missions believe that a new convert can be discipled and trained to serve the Lord. We have found that if we give a believer a copy of God’s Word in their language, they can govern themselves. The key has always been putting a Bible in the hand of a Bible-less people. We are grateful to so many who help us provide and distribute the Word of God all over Southeast Asia and beyond. This would not happen without your help!

There are so many things for us all to be thankful for in our personal lives. “Enter into his courts with praise.” Without Christ, we would have nothing to give to these idol worshippers. We do not rest upon a social Gospel, but a saving Gospel, which allows saved people to have hope. Thank you for providing hope to those who have no knowledge of our great God!

As we come to the end of another year, we would like to thank the Lord for all He provides us with. We were able to renew our lease for another year on our main Distribution Center in Rangsit, Thailand. This is a key in reaching Southeast Asia.

We are eternally thankful to those who faithfully give towards publishing the Word of God. Al Brady at Bearing Precious Seed called me and said that folks had donated funds for publishing 390,000 Burmese John & Romans, and they were ready for shipment. All we needed was the funds to ship them to Thailand. Before Christmas, I was contacted by a missionary who had funds for shipping a container of Scriptures but didn’t have Scriptures to send. Praise the Lord! I told him that I had Scriptures to fill 1½ containers. Please pray that we can coordinate the shipping and storage for the Burmese Scriptures and that they might be smuggled into Burma safely.

More than 100,000 young public-school students will hear the Gospel during the holiday season in Thailand. Blessed be His name!

We are in the process of printing 10,000 whole Thai Bibles in Thailand. This is a $40,000 project. The Lord has blessed, and we are well on our way to ordering these Bibles at the first of the year. We are still in need of help. If you would like to help in getting this project completed, please send whatever you can, and mark it “Thai Bible Fund.”

We now have B.E.S.T. Missions coin banks available for you to use in Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, or missions projects. If you would like to have some, please text me at 219-718-7772. I would be glad to send them to you.

Dr. Curtis Hall will return to Southeast Asia in January to coordinate the work there. I am praying that I can join him in February. Please pray that I can physically meet the challenge of international flights.

We thank God for sending His only begotten Son into the world to seek and to save that which was lost. There is so much to do, and time is running out. Who knows? Maybe this will be the year the Lord comes back. “Even so, come quickly.” While we wait for His Second Coming, most have never heard of the first.

Thank you so much for your prayers and for all you have given that converts in Southeast Asia might have a copy of the Word of God. We are looking forward to an even greater year in publishing the Word.

As we look forward to another great year, we want to wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Into all the world,

Bob Bowen
