Bob Bowen Prayer Letter: Revival in Missions Giving“Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?” (Psalm 85:6)

I can truly say that we had a month of revival in preaching on missions. The Lord allowed me to preach for the Third Annual Missions Conference for Pastor Dexter Landers in Whitesburg, Georgia. Once again, they increased their Faith Promise giving. Praise the Lord!

I presented the importance of missions in Southeast Asia at Greater Vision Baptist Church for Pastor Tim Russ. It’s a truly wonderful church sitting in the middle of a soybean field in Owensboro, Kentucky. To God be the glory!

Dr. Bob Gray II invited me to preach a missions revival at Longview Baptist Temple in Longview, Texas, where I served for nearly 25 years. Dr. Gray is leading the church to new heights in world missions and in giving to Faith Promise. During the day I preached on faith to the college and high school students. In the evening services, I preached to a full house on the need for the Word of God in the world. We truly saw revival! It was a great blessing to my wife and me to be with so many good friends whom we shared a good part of our lives with. I want to thank all of the good folks at LBT for making our five days there so special.

I attended the 47th Annual Bible and Literature Missionary Foundation meeting in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Dr. Bobby Lemmon graciously allowed me to give a report on the 54,000 Scriptures that were delivered and distributed in Nagaland in Northeast India.

We are so glad to have a small part in the “big ministry” of getting the printed Word into the hands of those who have never seen a Bible. Our greatest event this month was loading our 17th container of Scriptures for Southeast Asia. On Friday, October 30, the BEAMS staff and I loaded the container with the following: 40,000 Burmese John & Romans, 3,456 Burmese whole Bibles, 3,600 Thai whole Bibles, 800 KJV English Bibles, 20,000 Gospel tracts in 4 languages, and 16 cases of soul-winning material. This container is scheduled for arrival in Bangkok in 45 to 55 days. Please pray that all goes well and that there will be no problems through customs. The funds for this container were provided by my good friends at Unity Baptist Church in Corsicana, Texas, and Pastor Chad Owens. I am scheduled to arrive in Thailand on December 14 to see to the distribution of the Scriptures. Our 18th container will soon be ready for shipment, containing 300,000 Thai John & Romans provided by Bearing Precious Seed.

Thanks to everyone who has been praying for my wife’s mother Ernestine. She and her family made the heartbreaking decision to move Ernestine into a nursing home in October. Jackie would appreciate your prayers for her mother’s peace of mind and good care.

I would like to recommend to you Chad Inman, missionary to Thailand, who is in need of support. He and his wife have faithfully served in Thailand for 7.5 years, supported primarily by one church. They will return to the States for furlough in December to start deputation. We had the privilege to serve with Chad and Sarah for four years in Thailand. They proved to be a wonderful couple who love the Lord. Their hearts’ desire is to continue to serve God there, where they have already helped to establish three churches. Please consider having Chad and his family come to your church. You will fall in love with them and share their zeal for reaching Thailand for Christ! You can contact Chad by phone at 219-262-2543 or by email at chadinman@www.fbmi.org. Thank you so much.
