December 2017 “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews?” (Matthew 2:2b) This first question found in the New Testament was asked by the wise men asking, “Where is Jesus?” “. . . Where art thou?” (Genesis 3:9) This is the first question found in the Old Testament. God was asking, “Where is man?” The Bible is the only Book we can look to for the answers. When men do not have a copy of God’s Word, where can they look? The Lord has allowed us to have another record-breaking year in providing Scriptures for the converts in local Baptist churches in Southeast Asia. We want to thank all those who have invested in helping the believers in our part of the world get a copy of God’s Word. We could not do this work without your giving and your prayers. This month we celebrate the birth of Christ and look forward to His Second Coming. Most of the world has never heard that He came the first time! We must be busy getting the Gospel to those who are still looking for the Saviour. We thank you for your prayers regarding our health. Thank you for praying that I can continue to travel and raise funds for Bibles. I will be 70 in a couple of months and have been running under the speed limit these days. Because of my wife’s health, we have not traveled far away from home for meetings. Her health has improved, and she is adjusting to the dialysis. She is on a rigid schedule, doing three daily treatments of peritoneal dialysis at home every four to six hours. As for my health, an MRI revealed two herniated disks in my lower back. I had injections in my spine to help relieve the pain and numbness in my back and legs, which has brought relief, but it is only a temporary fix for the problem. Please continue to pray for Dr. Curtis Hall, as he takes on more responsibilities with B.E.S.T. Please pray for the safe arrival of our 22nd container of Scriptures due to arrive in Thailand the last week of January. We thank God for your faithfulness to the Lord. May the Lord bless you and your family and your work for God. Who knows? This could be the year of the Lord’s return. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus. We wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! We love you and thank God for everything you have done for us. Into all the world, Bob & Jackie Bowen Philippians 4:13 PS.
