Baraka Hall Prayer Letter: More Updates Coming Your WayI would like to preface this prayer letter just by stating that we felt challenged, in a good way, to send out a prayer letter each month. We have excitedly accepted this challenge. We are working on adjusting our schedule, so you may receive a couple of prayer letters back to back. August is coming to a close, and we would like to share how the Lord was so good to us in the month of July.

The beginning of July, we were blessed to attend our third Crossroads Baptist Church COEBA Conference. The conference was filled with phenomenal preaching and singing. This year we had several Deaf visitors. The Lord gave me the opportunity to present a clear presentation of the Gospel to one of the Deaf visitors. She recognized her need for a Saviour and placed her faith in Christ to save her soul.

Right after COEBA, we were delighted to take part in FBMI’s Candidate School. We had a great week of teaching, training, and challenges (good ones). During Candidate School week, we were able to schedule all preliminary checkups for Tyler’s surgery. Thanks to all of you who prayed for our son. The surgery took place on our 10-year wedding anniversary. (What an amazing 10 years it has been!) He did well during the surgery, and we are already seeing a difference in his breathing and sleeping.

After the surgery, we headed to Moline to visit some family and give Tyler some time to recuperate. I was asked to preach at my wife’s home church, Community Baptist Church, on a Wednesday night. My wife hacked my father-in-law’s Facebook page (with his permission) and invited his Deaf friends from the community. Two Deaf visitors came, and I was able to share the Gospel with them. Both were, in some way, trying to earn their way to Heaven. God’s Word never fails, and both left putting their faith in Jesus to save them.

We want to send a big “shout out” to Victory Baptist Church in Nokesville, Virginia. Their kids took up a huge offering during their Vacation Bible School to help with our Start-Up Cost Fund. We are getting close to the end of deputation. We want to ask you to prayerfully consider how you can be a part of our Start-Up Cost Fund.
