Angel Lopez Prayer Letter: The Work Continues

“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation . . . .” (II Corinthians 1:4)

Thank you so much for your faithful support and prayers. Your financial support gives a tremendous lift to our ministry here in Guatemala.

BRO. LUIS’S CASE

The trial of Bro. Luis is going on even now as I write. The court that is handling Brother Luis’s case has spread out his trial into four different hearings; they will make a decision as to his guilt or innocence in the last hearing. Two of these hearings have already happened, with two more to go. The next hearing is tomorrow, September 9, where the prosecution will be present its case, and the last one will be on September 21. Brother Luis’s case is all in God’s hands now. Please pray for him.

I am sorry to say that I have no information to give you about the Jail Ministry. All I can say is that the need is unbelievably great in our prisons here in Guatemala.

CRISTO REY

My wife and I rejoice with the visit of our daughter Tabitha Daniela to Guatemala. She and a young fellow by the name of Stephen Fruit from Indiana became boyfriend and girlfriend last Sunday, September 6, at the Guatemalan Zoo. Daniela also helped us teach at our mission in Santa Catarina Pinula. Tabitha Daniela and Stephen were our photographers at two weddings that we had on our fifth church anniversary on August 30, 2015, where I had the privilege to marry the two couples.

SANTA CATARINA PINULA

The Baptist work in Santa Catarina Pinula continues strong. Together with the Madrid Family, we are busy preaching, soul winning, baptizing, and discipling converts. Please pray for more workers.

NEW BAPTIST WORK

I am asking all of you to pray about a new work that we are going to start to the south of here in a place named Amberes, Santa Rosa. It is located one hour and fifteen minutes away from our church. Please pray for this new project.

SPECIAL NEED

My wife Noemi was in an auto accident last year in which she suffered a whiplash injury. Quite frankly, I did not think it was very serious at the time, but she has not gotten better; in fact, her condition has worsened. At the end of this month, the test results will let the doctors know whether or not they need to operate. Her injury is located in the fifth and sixth vertebrae of her neck. Please pray for her.

MISSIONS CONFERENCE

Next week we will be holding our annual missions conference at the church here in Cristo Rey, with a meeting planned also at the Santa Catarina Pinula mission. Please pray for this event.

IMPORTANT REQUEST

I am asking my supporting churches that have not already done so to please send me your email address so that I can send my prayer letter to you faster. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Thank you for honoring us with your support and prayers.

Sincerely,

Angel Lopez Guatemala
