Andrew Steers Prayer Letter: Acknowledging Him in All of Our WaysA foundational passage of Scripture for many of us is, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Praise God! Our church family no longer has to meet via the Internet now that COVID-19 restrictions have eased. We started using our new facility the first Sunday in July. We are again meeting in a funeral home chapel, with plenty of space and different rooms for Sunday school classes. There are even nice kitchen facilities and plenty of parking. We had asked the Lord to “give” us a building—and He did! Because we are independent, the board of the funeral home is not charging the church any rent. It falls under the “miracle” category, I would say. Thank you for praying so faithfully over many months.

It is of the Lord that Laura knew it was time to undergo chemotherapy for her breast cancer, something she had never wanted, but which has now proven to be a blessing in disguise, especially when complemented with some natural supplements. Yesterday represented her fifth weekly round of chemo, and an appointment with the oncologist this past Monday was confirmation that the tumor no longer looks as if it will break through the skin—which would have been a very bad outcome. It appears to be a bit smaller, but now there is a second tumor. The oncologist thinks it was overlapping the first tumor, and it has now “moved.” A CT scan in early September will give a clearer picture of what is happening, including the status of spots in the lung where it has metastasized.

We recently purchased a vehicle from a local businessman. He and his wife are from Pakistan. She was on the last plane allowed in the state before the lockdown in March, and she doesn’t know many people here yet. Laura befriended her and invited her to a ladies’ meeting. They are not familiar with Christianity, so we are praying to reach them with the Gospel. Laura keeps in touch with the wife, and she wants to come to church with Laura.

Please pray that:

1. The people we meet in the streets around our city will not be so fearful as to avoid us when we seek to give them the Gospel. Even in Australia, the media has instilled a great deal of unnecessary fear into people from all walks of life.
2. Coastline Baptist Church will see a steady recurrence of visitors.
3. Morris, Phillip, and Sandy will all realize their need of the Saviour and get saved.
4. The West Tamar outreach meetings will become a church plant. I am scheduled to preach there the first Sunday in September.

We are living in strange times (some say “uncertain times”). As Christians, we see Bible prophecy unfolding rapidly before our eyes. May we all be diligent to get the Gospel message to the lost while we can. Thank you again for your ongoing support.

All for His glory,

Bro. Andrew Steers
