About two months ago, we started teaching a discipleship program as a part of our Wednesday night services. It has really helped some of our folks to get a deeper understanding of these basic biblical truths. Some folks have been using it to disciple others also. Some have employed digital platforms when they are unable to have face-to-face time with the person they are discipling. Thank you, First Baptist Church of Hammond, for making these materials available to our ministry!

Like many, our country has gone through a series of lockdowns and reopenings, curfews, and a whole gamut of other restrictions. We just came out of our third lockdown recently. It lasted for three weeks. All three weekends were dubbed “no movement days.” Anyone caught outside their home during lockdown was liable of being charged or prosecuted without prejudice. The only exceptions were for essential workers and church attendances! Our prime minister made sure to put a caveat in just for churches, with extremely tight restrictions, of course.

We have been able to utilize some of the lockdown restrictions to our advantage. Since we are forced to have a much smaller attendance, we decided to do a needed reconstruction project on our auditorium annex. That room was made with plywood and housed the nursery, restrooms, and a Sunday school class. Climatic conditions and termites have gotten the best of it, leaving us with just a dilapidated shell. We decided to rebuild it and to expand it to make it more commodious, but this time from concrete, which will stand the test of time. To save on workmanship costs, a few men from the church and I have been doing the work three days per week since the beginning of February. Needless to say, it is still going . . .slowly but surely!

Recently, Alicia came across a young man and tried to witness to him. Demoy made it very clear that he was not interested in church and was quite satisfied with his position in the world. A few weeks later, he was in a serious accident. After hearing about it, Alicia decided go back to see him and try witnessing to him again. He was much more receptive this time and allowed her to share the Gospel with him. In fact, before she completed her presentation, he abruptly cut her off and started praying, asking God to save him! Praise the Lord, we serve a God Who works through grave circumstances to get us where He needs us to be!

Thank you for your faithful partnership in getting the Gospel to the world!
