Israel Alvarez Prayer Letter: Wonderful ConferenceIt is joy to report what God has been doing here in Belize over the last few months. In our last prayer letter, we mentioned how much we were looking forward to the annual Fundamentalist Conference we have each July. We prepared as best we could and prayed fervently that the conference would be a blessing to many. God blessed beyond what we had hoped for, and 20 people trusted Christ. We had a mini youth conference during the same time, and 6 teens trusted Christ as Saviour. Praise God for new names written down in the Book of Life! It was a special joy to have some new teenage girls attend all the sessions and hear how excited they were about what they had learned.

The main focus of the conference was the family and marriage. It is our desire to see marriages and families transformed by the preaching of God’s Word. It is rare in Belize to have whole families attend church together. Our guest speakers gave separate classes for married couples and also for women and men. There were many decisions made as the conference came to a close. Please join us in prayer as we ask God to help our people put into action all that they learned.

Our Bible institute will be opening this September. We have 6 men and 1 young lady enrolled for our first year. I will be giving classes, and I have a pastor from Mexico who will be giving classes once a week as well. This is a huge step for our ministry. We are stepping out on faith as we try to help those who have a desire to study.

This September we will be celebrating our sixth year as missionaries here in the country of Belize. We would like to thank all of the churches that have been supporting us throughout these six years. Thanks also to those who have joined us along the way. Our main focus has been and always will be to reach the lost for Christ. Along this journey we have seen many lives changed as new converts have grown in their faith. Of course, we have also seen heartache, as some have turned away from the truth. Through it all God has been good. We are always thankful God chose to use us here in Belize.

Special Prayer Requests

1. We are expecting our third daughter, due in early December.
2. We are about halfway done with the construction on our house. We would like to be finished before the baby arrives, if possible.
3. Classes begin this September for our Bible institute.

In Christ,
