Alberto Perez Prayer Letter: To Him Be Glory . . . Forever!“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (II Peter 3:18)

We write to you again, thanking you for your faithful financial support and prayers. We trust God in supplying everything we need, but He uses people and churches like yours to help us keep on going as we serve God on the mission field.

Since we started the church in Loja back in April, we have been blessed in many ways. We have had visitors almost every Sunday. The people keep growing in grace and knowledge; some already go with us to share the Gospel with others. We provide discipleship classes in their homes. We are trying to equip our people with many different activities, and I can see some changes in their lives. In these past two months, 12 new people have joined our congregation.

During the last week of August, we held Vacation Bible School for two days in a new rural area. On Friday and Saturday, we had about 50-60 kids and adults. The theme was “Army of God.” We had many decisions made for salvation. On that Sunday, 20 kids came to church for the very first time, and 3 of them brought their parents.

One whole family has begun attending faithfully—a single parent with his eight-year-old-son. It’s amazing how God works in the lives of these dear people. Bro. Mauricio was literally crying out to God for food for his son Christian one afternoon. He left his apartment in tears, not knowing how to feed his son. They didn’t have anything to eat that morning. At the same time as he went out, an old friend who attends our church saw him and invited him to church. That’s how he came to know Christ as his Saviour.

In another story, Darwin won a Bible by memorizing three Bible verses. On a Wednesday, he brought his dad Camilo. This was the fourth service in a row that they have come. The Lord is just good.

The pictures we are showing are of people we are currently giving discipleship classes to. Two of them are done, and now they are helping my wife in her Sunday school class. Please keep us in your prayers! May God keep using us in Ecuador for His sake!
