Robert and Anny Wilson Prayer Letter: I Wish You Could Have Been There!

Robert and Anny Wilson Prayer Letter: I Wish You Could Have Been There! We invite you to rejoice with us in the blessings of God upon our ministries. Since our last letter, we have had scores of people visit our churches. Hundreds have been saved on the streets, and many have been baptized. Glory to God!

I would like to share one of those “I wish you could have been there” moments with you. We were finishing up one of our open-air meetings a few weeks ago, and a lady named Marielena showed up at the end. I kindly told her that the meeting was over but that we would be glad to pick her up for church the next day. She said, “I would like to come, but could I bring along my eight children?” You can probably imagine how I answered. On the outside, the middle-aged, reserved me said, “We’ll work it out,” while on the inside, the 19-year-old, Bible-college-student me was jumping up and down saying, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”

We had her accompany us in the van to show us how to get to her house. She led us down a dirt road, which would have been a dirt biker’s dream, but was a missionary’s nightmare. I signed them up for Sunday. My wife went to pick them up for church. They came, were saved, and made a public profession of faith in Christ. Amen!

God has blessed us with some spiritual young men. Our college boys were home for Spring Break, so we decided to spend the week winning souls. I planned some evangelistic meetings with them and invited my high school son Robert too. That week we saw over 250 people saved, 174 of whom followed the Lord in believer’s baptism. What wonderful memories I made with these wonderful young men.

I would like to share a precious “behind the scenes” story. I was going down the street passing out flyers and inviting people to our meetings when a man named Ismael stepped out of his house into his driveway. I handed him a flyer, and he pledged to come. His family started coming to our church, and they have been coming ever since. It was just a couple of weeks ago that he told me the “rest of the story.” Brother Ismael and his family had just recently moved into our area and were asking God what church they should attend. He said that he and his wife were on their knees by the couch, begging God to show them which church they should go to. He said he got up from his knees and walked outside, and it was at that moment that I handed him the flyer. He said he walked back into his house, waving that flyer like a victory flag and exclaiming, “God has answered our prayers! He has showed us what church we should go to!”

We thank you all for your faithful prayers and support that have helped to make this possible. We are your co-laborers with God, and we are delighted to share the blessings of our ministry with you. Please pray for our safety. Pray that we will be able to purchase a new van for our ministry; we are getting closer to our goal. We ask prayer for these new believers and for wisdom to guide our seasoned believers. We are praying for you.

In His service,

Robert Wilson
