At the age of five in our home in Findlay, Ohio, I asked Jesus to save me. My parents gave me the privilege of being reared in a Christian home. I attended a Christian school until the sixth grade and then a public school until the end of my junior year. I was home-schooled my senior year.

In January of 1997, God called me to preach. In March of the same year, I went to Pastors’ School for the first time. It was there that God led me to Hyles-Anderson College to prepare for the ministry. During the spring semester of 1999 in my freshman year at college, I was privileged to hear Brother Mark Bachman preach in the college’s Missions Conference. Under his preaching, I surrendered to go to England as a missionary.

After graduating Bible college in 2002, Holly and I stayed in the Crown Point area until she graduated the following May. In 2003 Holly and I moved to Delaware, OH to work in the ministry of our home church, Grace Baptist Church. One year later we began deputation. In February, 2009, we moved to England and started Grace Baptist Church in north London in October of the same year.

In May 2016, Skelmersdale Baptist Church, called me as pastor. SBC has seen God open amazing doors for them. The council has given us a building for the cost of $1.75 a year! When we came there was 9 others in attendance, but since then God has grown His church amazingly. We are finishing a building project to expand our auditorium to accommodate over 75 people. We are excited about what God is doing and thrilled to serve these amazing people in the Liverpool area! Pray for us as we continue training nationals to start independent Baptist church across England and the world.

My life’s verses are Philippians 1:20-21  According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Justin Williams Prayer Letter: Grace-Filled Summer

Justin Williams Prayer Letter: Grace-Filled SummerThis year we have been speaking on the theme “By Grace We Grow; By Grace We Serve.” As we have studied and focused on God’s grace, we have seen how grace is liberty to obey and serve. God’s rich favor enables us to grow and serve in ways we cannot without God’s help. His people have been strengthened and emboldened to step out by faith through His grace these past two months.

The summer break for school doesn’t begin until the end of July here in the UK. It is then that we hold our Holiday Bible Club (VBS). This year the church did much of the work. We organized and set up things, but the actual preaching, teaching, games, activities, and invitation work was all done by the workers. God’s grace helped people serve, who had not served before, and see souls saved for the very first time! It’s our desire to teach and train, and God truly helped mightily! Pray for the children’s workers as they follow up with the families and encourage them to continue in Sunday school.

During our Holiday Bible Club, we host a Community BBQ. We had a great response, with a lot of families coming from the community. It started to rain heavily about halfway through, so we did not have as many come as in previous years, but the spirit and the opportunities to teach the Gospel and the Word of God were greatly increased. Pray for us as we follow up on these families with the Gospel and discipleship.

August was a quiet month, with families traveling during the summer break, but God brought visitors throughout the month. We had the great privilege to see people saved while out soul winning. In August, we launched a building project to repair our entrances, remodel our bathrooms, and put in a new insulated ceiling. We are excited about this project and trusting God for £35,000 (US$43,000). This is a step of faith, and we are excited to see how God is going to provide!

This autumn, we are continuing and beginning some new discipleship classes during the Wednesday service time. These classes have gone well so far this year. One of the men will be teaching the future discipleship classes, and I’m praying God uses this to strengthen His church.

I found out that I have gallstones and need surgery to remove the gallbladder. The healthcare system here, called the NHS, has a lengthy waiting list (estimated 20 weeks) for the operation. Pray that this will be expedited and that the surgery will be sooner than anticipated.

Next month is Missions Month. Pray for the Faith Promise commitments as we look to increase our missions giving.

Thank you for praying for us. God’s grace is abundant, as we have seen Him protect and help in so many ways this year. It is our joy and privilege to serve Christ here. May God richly bless you all!

Yours for the souls of England,

Justin, Holly, David, Jonathan, Nathan, and Samuel Williams
