Mark Siegwart Prayer Letter: So Little Time

Mark Siegwart Prayer Letter: So Little Time“So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.” (Luke 21:31)

It is amazing how a person’s worldview affects how they view world events. Over the last few months, we have witnessed many natural disasters. When they hit a little closer to home, it makes us spotlight them more than usual. As we know, the Bible prophesies that as the end times approach, the earth will groan, and there will be wars and rumors of wars. The news is filled with reports of chaos, both of natural disasters, as well as human hurt. The secular analysis for the weather phenomena is that “mother nature” is angry with us and “global warming” needs to be resolved. Often their solution for the human condition is that man needs more laws or more medical treatment.

As Christians we realize that although we should be good stewards of the world God has given us, we do not control God’s universe. We also realize that the only true and permanent fix for man’s sin nature is the redeeming power of salvation found in the amazing grace that is offered through Jesus Christ our Lord. These times should not frustrate us or cause us to lose heart. Let us realize that the kingdom of God is at hand and take heart. We should allow these things to challenge us to realize we truly have so little time. As we seek to reach into the uttermost, both assisting and raising support for mission aviation and national pastors, we covet your continued prayers and support for the urgent work of love that God has allowed us to be a part of. There is darkness and hate in our world, but these have no chance against the light and love of Jesus Christ.

Recently on a trip to Mexico, I had the chance to visit the ministry and work that Bro. Ashcraft started in Monterrey. It was great to see how God blesses the efforts of a faithful servant of God who is willing to be used. Please keep Mrs. Ashcraft in your prayers, as she struggles with her health. Their son is now carrying on the work. What a wonderful thing to witness—a family making much of Jesus together! They are doing a great job, but just walking the streets of Monterrey, you cannot help but be touched by the people in need of God’s love.

The Cessna Stationair 206, which is our primary mission aircraft, is still in maintenance. We had several unexpected and costly issues. In our next letter, I hope to have a better update on its progress.

We have several opportunities and open doors to impact places of our world that previously have been nearly impossible to be reached with the Gospel. Please pray that these doors continue to stay open. Wisdom is needed as we seek the best strategy to reach more areas of the uttermost with the Gospel.

Your friends and servants in Christ,

Mark and Laura Siegwart
