Mark Siegwart Prayer Letter: Prayer and Supplication With Thanksgiving

Mark Siegwart Prayer Letter: Prayer and Supplication With Thanksgiving“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4:6-8)

We hope the last few months have been filled with productivity and praise as we remembered the birth of our Savior and welcomed in a New Year.

As the first few verses above admonish, we would like to thank our God for yet another productive year of service, as we visited many countries and helped reach into the uttermost with the good news of Jesus Christ. Parts of our world which were very closed off to the Gospel have opened, and seemingly unreachable places are more open than ever before. These are certainly exciting times to be a part of world evangelism!

We do ask for your earnest prayer, as the last six months have not been as productive as we had hoped. We have faced several unique hurtles. The Cessna 206 that is our main aircraft has been out of service due to its need for major repairs. Previously we had spent over $25,000.00 on avionics to update the aircraft and bring it into compliance with upcoming FAA requirements. This year we had hoped the maintenance costs would be minimal, as we planned to fly missions into both Haiti and Cuba. The plans had to be canceled due to the engine needing to be changed, the propeller having to be rebuilt, a complete new fuel system having to be installed, along with getting a new battery, a new tire, and a new power inverter, in addition to several other repairs. These repairs have cost tens of thousands of dollars. Also, the church, where my dad pastored before his passing and where ACE Mission Aviators was based, is being sued by an individual who had previously donated towards the mission work. They are requesting a large sum of money that neither the church nor the ministry has. Even though the lawsuit is fraudulent and frivolous, it has cost us thousands in legal fees already. These circumstances have certainly presented both an operational challenge, as well as a large financial burden. Please keep this situation in your prayers as we seek the best options moving forward.

With that being said, I am happy to report that the mission work continues, and God is blessing in many unique ways. As I write this report, I am headed back from a communist country still publicly closed to the Gospel yet yearning for the freedom found in Jesus. Just a few days ago, I received a positive report from a pastor we support who is based in yet another communist country. Almost weekly I receive reports from pastors and individuals whom we have helped fly missions to. The challenges are real; but we serve a mighty God of absolute miracles, and we look forward to seeing God’s handiwork on full display as we start yet another year of ministry and service for His kingdom.

We count it a true honor and privilege to serve and partner with you to make Christ known in a world yearning for true love and peace. The precious souls we are able to both reach and disciple are certainly the pure and lovely things we want to stay focused on as we shine light into a dark world. Satan and his imps may oppose our efforts, but praise be to our God, His truth will prevail.

Please let us know if you have any specific prayer requests and praises you would like to share. We pray for each of you often and hope God is blessing each and every one of you as you seek to make Christ known.

Your servants in Christ,

Mark and Laura Siegwart
