Mark Rader Prayer Letter: Food Drives
In September and October, we still moved forward through a strict quarantine here in Peru. September began with a Pastors’ Conference, which Team Peru hosted online. The conference began Tuesday night and ended Friday night. We had preaching live on Facebook and classes via Zoom. We hosted four different Zoom classes during the day. Our part was to host the pastors’ sessions via Zoom. We led the singing, coordinated the specials, and operated the Facebook broadcasts. For 3½ days, we were glued to that computer. Churches all over Lima and all over Peru were connected. The livestream maintained a steady attendance between 200 to 300 devices connected from Tuesday night through Friday night. The feedback on what God did in the hearts of many was tremendous.
The Monday after the conference, we started the second semester of our Bible institute online. This semester, Sarah is teaching. Our great blessing is to see our people following in their Christian training even through these difficult times.
At the end of September, our church sponsored another food drive. This time we almost doubled the turnout and more than doubled the souls saved from the previous food drive. One hundred three souls were saved. In September, we begin to have visitors in our Sunday services. Keep in mind, we still cannot legally congregate; therefore, we had the police as well. We continued having visitors and souls saved on Sundays. God is great!
October began with a one-day survey trip to the mountains to set the groundwork for a trip in November. October ended with another food drive, with 51 saved and 2 baptized. Altogether in October, 3 were baptized.
We know churches everywhere are going through rough times. We want you to know that you are in our prayers, as we know we are in yours. Be strong. Please pray for our church moving forward, as the quarantine here in Peru will more than likely continue until the middle of next year. Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. We love you. God bless you.
In Christ in Peru,
Mark, Sarah, Savannah, Paul, Samuel, Rebekah, & Luke Rader
