Daniel’s Testimony

By God’s grace, I had the amazing opportunity to grow up in a godly Christian home. Very early on, I was taught the value of hard work, how to be respectful, and much more. I was raised in a pastor’s home and was shown, by example, that living for Jesus Christ is truly the most amazing way to live life. I believe that the two people who have had the greatest impact on my life are my parents. On February 3, 2007, at a revival meeting, as the preacher preached on the terrors of Hell, I realized that this pastor’s kid was on his way to Hell. I met my Junior Church teacher at the altar and asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and take me to Heaven when I died. The next year at a Youth Conference, I was called to preach. A little while after that at a Missions Conference, I felt God calling me to go to the mission field.

After I graduated from high school, I went to Hyles-Anderson College, where I met my wife Erin. We both graduated in May of 2017. We were married on August 26, 2017. Since our graduation, I have been serving at Temple Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. My wife joined me here after we were married. I teach a teen Sunday school class, lead our Junior Church, drive our church bus, and am involved in our church’s music ministry. My wife helps in each of these and also plays the piano for the congregational singing.

I have always felt that God wanted us to serve somewhere on the continent of Africa. I have visited missionaries in Ghana and Rwanda. We believe that God has opened the door for us to serve in Nigeria, West Africa, with Missionary Mark Holmes. We are very excited to start deputation and get to the field.

Erin’s Testimony

I had the privilege to grow up in an amazing Christian home. Our family served faithfully in the church and its ministries. Even though I was raised in a godly environment, I was not saved until I was a teenager; the Lord graciously allowed me to hear message after message. Then in 2011 at a Youth Conference, I finally received the assurance of my salvation. While attending Bible college, the Lord allowed me to meet and marry my husband Daniel.

Daniel shared his burden for missions with me, which has become our focus. The Lord has allowed both my husband and me to visit missionaries in Africa, and we feel that He is leading us to this needy field. I am truly excited to see what the Lord has in store for us as we endeavor to reach the lost souls of Nigeria.

Our Ministry

We plan to work with Missionary Mark Holmes and his family in Nigeria. During our first few years, we will be learning the culture and possibly a language. We will be actively involved in many facets of Bro. Holmes’ ministry. Along with working in the local church, we will be helping at the Bible college, preaching the Gospel in the public schools, and working with nationals from the Bible college in church plants.

We believe that God wants us to plant churches. Working with Bro. Holmes, we will be learning from someone who is an established church planter. We look forward to being used of God on deputation and eventually in Nigeria.

Daniel Lang Prayer Letter: Survey Trip!

Daniel Lang Prayer Letter: Survey Trip!Thank you so much for your continued support! I’m very grateful for everyone who has prayed for, given to, and thought about us. There are not many weeks that go by that I don’t hear from someone, letting us know that they love us. We are so very thankful for you all!

As many of you know, we had the amazing privilege to go on our survey trip in September! We were able to be in Nigeria for just under three weeks. Thank you to everyone who prayed specifically about this trip! It was definitely very interesting taking a 28-hour trip with a 4-month-old baby; but God was very good to us, and Ezekiel did quite well.

It is quite hard to put into words just how we felt, being able to see the country and meet some of the people we know God has called us to serve and minister to one day. We had a wonderful time and are more determined than ever to return! I was thinking recently what a joy it is to serve a God Who has not only saved us, but Who also allows us to serve Him! What a thought!

We greatly enjoyed being able to meet and get to know the Holmes family while we were there. They were gracious enough to allow us to stay in their house the whole time we were in Nigeria. We are excited to be able to have the opportunity to learn from and work alongside this great family as we continue to strive to fulfill the Great Commission!

We were able to do many things and meet many people during this trip! We were able to go to a couple of the village churches and get to meet the faithful men who pastor them. We were also able to be a part of the services of both of the churches in Abuja that Bro. Holmes pastors. Teaching a Bible Club, preaching in a couple of schools, and going soul winning with the Bible college students were just a few more of the opportunities that we had to lift up the name of Christ! We also enjoyed getting to see and be a part of the everyday life of a missionary on the field. God was so good to us!

If anyone has any specific questions or would like to hear more about the trip, please don’t hesitate to contact me; I’d love to explain more! Thank you once again for your continued support! We look forward to continuing on the deputation trail! We know that it takes folks like you to send folks like us!

In His service,

Daniel Lang Family
