Micah is a third generation Christian who was raised in a Baptist church and graduated from the church school. He was led through the Gospel as a four-year-old boy, but could not remember what was said. After his father’s passing and as a senior in college, he decided it was time to have a day he could remember with a clear presentation of the Gospel. Though his parents told him he was already saved, he needed a day he could claim. On January 19, 2016, at 2:19 PM; he personally accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. The following Sunday he followed in believer’s baptism.
Arianna’s testimony: Arianna was born into a Christian home and heard the Gospel as a child. She was raised in a Baptist church in Canada, and she received assurance of salvation when she was twelve years old. She was baptized and God called her to be a missionary’s wife.
We hope you had a Christ-filled Christmas with many blessings and an enjoyable time with those you love! We also want to wish you all a Happy New Year! Thank you to all of you for being such a blessing to us this year and for your continued prayer and financial support. We could not have made it through the year without you. Whatever may come this year, let us remember that God is always only good! In a changing world, we know God never changes. “For I am the LORD, I change not . . . .” (Malachi 3:6)
Wednesday, December 2, we said “See you in Japan” to Go and Danielle Oishi as they headed off to the airport to fly to Japan. It was bittersweet to see them go but very exciting to know they will be ministering in Japan. Saturday, December 5, Bro. Ed Lutes and I went to Bro. Brett Beil’s bus route to invite people to come to a Bible Club at the park. During the month, our home church, Faith Baptist Church of Wildomar, California, has been doing Bible Clubs in a local park.
Sunday, December 6, Pastor Goddard (the pastor of our home church), Pastor Mike Valdez (the Spanish pastor of our home church), and Steve Sandberg (my stepdad) conducted an ordination service for our family. Arianna, Oakley, and I all received new Bibles that day. It was an honor and a blessing to have the Morgans, a missionary family starting deputation for Japan, present on our special day. This day was very special, not only because of the ordination, but also because it was the 8th anniversary of my father going Home to Heaven. I am glad we get to share a memorable day.
The week after the ordination, almost all of us became ill and had to watch services online as a precaution. That same week, we were packing all our belongings because we were moving to a different home. The following week, the Morgans invited us to join them for Christmas in Northern California. Friday, December 18, we had an early Christmas with my mom, stepdad, and brother before we went north to be with the Morgans. We had a delicious meal of roast beef and sushi, and after the meal we opened presents.
During Christmas week, we visited Regency Baptist Church of Loomis, California, where Arianna was able to meet a lady who knows Arianna’s friend from her previous church in Canada and where we enjoyed a Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 20. Monday, December 21, we had a great time walking around a lake and seeing the children play at the park. Oakley is an adventurous one who loves to go down slides. We also put Royce in a swing, and he loved it! Tuesday, December 22, the Morgans invited us to join their church choir’s Christmas party, where we enjoyed a light meal and some games. We also got to be a part of an exciting gift exchange. On Christmas Day, we were invited to join the pastor and his family, along with several others, for a Christmas dinner.
Once we returned to Southern California, we enjoyed another day of Christmas with our hosting family. The following day, we all found out that we were moving in a few days, so the next several days became very busy. I also helped the Stricklands move into their temporary new home. Wednesday, December 30, Royce was rushed to the hospital due to a skin infection that was worsening each day, but we praise the Lord that it was not a severe problem!
Unfortunately, now the rest of the family has to stay in California while I drive out to the next conferences this month. We hope and pray that God will bless you all in the new year!
Furtherance of the Gospel
Bro. Ed Lutes and I spoke to several people and invited many adults to join the Adult Bible Study. During the outreach, we both were able to share the Gospel with two people, but they were already saved.
Please pray for:
1. Prepared souls to be saved.
2. New support.
3. New conferences and meetings, specifically churches ready to support new missionaries.
