Jonathan Beil Prayer Letter: What a Joy It Is to Serve the Lord!

Jonathan Beil Prayer Letter: What a Joy It Is to Serve the Lord! What a joy it is to serve our Lord! As we continue raising our support, we want to thank all of you who support and pray for us. I know that the prayers of God’s people have kept us safe and well. We have been busy presenting in many churches and doing our best to tell others about Christ. We have had several new churches start supporting our ministry and a few more that have committed to partner with us in the near future. Brittany and I try our best to be an encouragement and help to the churches we visit, but time and time again, they encourage and help us.

I’m always amazed that God will use His children in ways we don’t understand. When we were out visiting in Florida, God used a young boy named Jonathan in our group. Jonathan went up to a door by himself as the pastor was walking behind him. As Jonathan knocked on the door, a man yelled out to him, and Jonathan proceeded to invite the man to church. The conversation didn’t go far, so we finished visiting the other houses on the street. At church the next night, that man showed up to the service! After the service, he told that pastor that on that Saturday afternoon before Jonathan knocked on his door, he had been drinking alcohol. He said that he was drunk and wanted to commit suicide that day, but he prayed and asked God to do something to intervene. At that moment he prayed, Jonathan knocked on his door! I want to encourage all of you to continue to sow the seed of the Gospel. You never know how the Lord is going to use you in someone else’s life.

In our prayer letter, we usually mention the churches we visit and a person or two who trusted Christ, but people don’t always know what else a missionary does on deputation beside visit churches. In the last several months, we have been able to minister in a few unexpected ways. We helped a church in New Jersey assemble 10,000 John and Romans booklets in Spanish. In Maryland, my wife sang, and I preached at a nursing home facility that had around 30 people in attendance at the service. (I heard more Amens in the nursing home than in most church services!) In North Carolina, I was able to attend a meet-up with some other pastors and an evangelist to talk about the ministry and share some ideas, burdens, and prayer requests. While in Georgia, we were able to help a new church plant set up for services in a school building where they meet. The Lord also allowed us to attend a marriage clinic at another church in Georgia around Valentine’s Day. In Florida, we were able to go with a group of bus kids and teens for their very first time out visiting! At that same church, I preached at a pastors’ fellowship for the first time. I was very nervous, but the Lord helped and used the other ministry leaders to encourage me. And at the last conference we attended, we participated in a Missions 5K Run to raise money for a church building in Myanmar. Serving the Lord is never boring!

Thank you for your prayers as we try to finish deputation by this fall. Praise the Lord that we have raised over 70% of our support!

Sincerely,

Jonathan and Brittany Beil
