Israel Alvarez Prayer Letter: Exciting Times!!“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” We have some very exciting answers to prayer! Not only have we been able to put in windows and doors in our building, but we have also been able to install the drywall for the auditorium. Our building is starting to look like an actual church house. Thank you to those who have helped us financially and to those who have lifted our ministry up in prayer. I hope those who pray for us and other missionaries understand how much we value prayer. There is no greater force than a body of believers who pray for each other.

Another tremendous blessing for us is that we have finally been able to begin construction on our house. We have dreamed and prayed for this for a few years. We feel confident that the time is right and that God is guiding our future to His perfect will. If things go well with the construction, we plan to move into our new home by early fall. We have been trying for over a year to get the city to install a post for electricity and put in pipes for running water on our land. Please pray that these things would be taken care of before we move.

Ministry Update

The first week of March, we had an all-week soul-winning marathon. We went to a different village each night to have a small service. We arrived at each village two hours before the planned service to go door knocking and invite people for the service. Each service included some singing, a few games, and, of course, a clear presentation of the Gospel. Each child who attended also received a free DVD of Bible stories. Helping us during this marathon was Evangelist Jonathon Castro, an evangelist from El Salvador. We were also able to hold assemblies in two of the public high schools in our town, where we gave the Gospel to over 400 students. Each teacher and student who wanted one also received a King James Bible. At the end of the week, over 600 people had heard the Gospel, and around 230 had trusted Christ as Saviour. Since then we have had a family of 8 come to each service as a result of us visiting their village. It is events like these that give us strength and determination to continue the work that God has called us to do.

At the end of April, we will be taking a two-month furlough to visit some supporting churches, take care of some paperwork, and get some small medical procedures done. We will only be on the West Coast and are looking forward to visiting as many supporting churches as possible during that time. Again, thank you for your continued prayers and support.

In Christ,

Israel Alvarez and Family
