Team Ghana Update: Young Couples Serving TogetherHere in Ghana it is all too common for a husband to attend one church and the wife to attend a different church. If a married couple attends the same church, the husband and wife may, more often than not, sit in different places in the auditorium.

However, in the six years that I have been the pastor of Fundamental Baptist Church International here in Kumasi, I have had the privilege of marrying several young couples and seeing their marriages flourish! Please let me introduce you to a few of our church’s young couples.

Ghana1

Eric and Millicent Amponsah with their daughter Erica

Eric was won to Christ by one of our Bible college students. He himself soon joined our Bible college. He won his girlfriend to Christ just a few weeks after he was saved. They were married in June 2012. Now Eric is on our staff and has been instrumental in launching our Radio Ministry. Sunday, February 1, will be the first broadcast of our weekly radio program entitled “Talk Bible.” Millicent is a vital employee of Fundamental Baptist Academy, our school.

Ghana2

Ben and Faustina Annor with their son Billy

Ben was won to Christ by his brother, who was already attending our church. At our church he met Faustina, who was won to Christ by one of our staff members. They were married in August 2011. Ben has been trained by Brother Billy Carter to be an excellent maintenance man. Faustina helps in our nursery.

Seth and Lawrencia Appah

Brother Charles Osgood won Seth to Christ several years ago. Bro. Rexford Aning, who is now pastoring our church plant in Sunyani, won Lawrencia to Christ. She started working faithfully in our Singles’ Department. Seth and Lawrencia were married in November 2012. Now Seth conducts our Junior Church every Sunday, with Lawrencia helping wherever needed. They are a very happy couple.

What a blessing it is to see these couples serving together in the ministry! When I see them sitting together listening intently to the preaching, I am greatly encouraged about the future of our church. Please pray that God sends us more such couples. Speaking of great couples, please take time to read the Christiansen family’s most recent prayer letter. We are praying that they are able to raise their support quickly so they can join us on the field very soon.

Yours for souls,
